A Place We Have Visited -November 2019-

What did we enjoy about this place?

Dad

I liked being able to see all the ruins. You get to see these things in movies and pictures but actually getting to experience it was a very different thing. I liked that we got to go on a guided tour to show us where the actual Leonides fought. I am a fan of the movie 300, so this was awesome to get to be in the place that this movie happened. I liked being able to see all the different cats everywhere. They looked pretty cool. Cats were brought to Greece because a long time ago there was a huge snake problem, so the cats were brought in to bring down the snake population. Once the snake population was taken care of, they realized that they now had an abundant cat population. If you visit any Greek Island, including Cyprus you will see lots of cats for this reason.

I loved visiting Greece. I liked that we got to take a Big Bus tour and see so many different ruin places, like the Parthenon, and many many museums and ampitheaters. I was very surprised with the amount of graffiti in the city. It felt scary until we got to talk with our tour guide that explained that the graffiti was just a way for their city to express their feelings to their government. People were actually hired to do a lot of the graffiti. Athens is also known for a lot of riots in the city, so it was exciting to see the police walking down the streets with their shields up and ready for any riot that could break out. Luckily we didn't experience a riot. I loved that we got to do a guided tour to Delphi and see Athena's Temple. The museums were just amazing and I liked being able to see all the different types of artifacts.

I liked the Cannabis pizza place called Mystic Pizza. They used organic cannabis to make the crusts of the pizza. It was very tasty. I really liked the Parthenon because I really enjoyed learning about all the Greek Gods and the history. I liked taking the Big Bus around the city because you could see so much without having to walk so much. I also really enjoyed the Monastary and how quiet it was there.

Greece was a very beautiful place outside of the main city as the main city was practically covered head to toe in graffiti. The whole city was really dirty and felt like large stone walls closing in on you around every corner. Although, outside of that city were amazing views with mountains that look like they were taken right out of a painting.

I liked being able to see all the olive trees. I was surprised that there could be so many in one area. I loved being able to the see all the museums we went to and all the different artifacts that were collected and put on display. There was this one display of very minature people and different tiny bowls. It said that the archeologists believed that these could have been pieces for jewerly. I love cats, so it was really awesome to see so many all around.
