Places We Have Visted -February 2020-
I liked being able to see the Garden of Gethsemene. I had learned about all these places in Sunday School as a child, so getting to see it in real life was very cool. I liked going to the treasury in Jordan. The whole trip was a birthday present from my wife because she knew how much I love Indiana Jones. The ability to experience a place I had seen in a movie was really great. All of the little shops we would go into would serve this delicious cinnamon tea. My kids didn't like it much, so I was excited to get to drink their cups too.
I'm a big fan of Jesus, so being able to go to Jerusalem was a highlight of my life. I loved being able to visit the Old City Jerusalem, a still functioning city. I liked being able to walk the streets and see the kids coming home from school with their backpacks and running down the streets. I liked seeing all the little shops, like butchery, spice shop, material shops, etc. Shops that were all for a functioning city and not just a tourist town. I liked that we got to see the Western Wall or the Wailing Wall. I hadn't realized that the wall was divided into two sections, one for men and one for women. I loved going to Petra and seeing how a city was built into the mountains. I loved going to the Dead Sea and getting to float! It was a lot harder to get out of the water than you would imagine because once your legs were up floating, it was tough to push them back down to allow you to stand up.
I liked the hotel that we stayed at in Amman because there was an awesome chicken wing place that we really loved. I liked the Indiana Jones hat that my dad bought me. I liked all the Jesus sites that we went to. I liked that we got to see the Garden of Gethsemene and the slab of stone where he was laid while they were preparing his body after being crucified.
I really enjoyed seeing all the religious sites in Jersualem because there was a great deal of history in this area. I enjoyed exploring Old Jerusalem as it was smaller than I expected it to be. There was a great experience that I had on top of Mount Nebo. It was raining while we were at the top and we quickly walked down to the car and drove to a place to eat.
I liked our tour guide in Jerusalem. He made the whole tour very interesting and fun and had a lot of great things to say. I liked going to Old Jerusalem and being able to see Christ's tomb and the church that was built over it and also the rock he was crucified on. I liked being able to float in the dead sea. I loved putting the mud on me because I GOT to put mud on me! I loved that we got to walk through Petra and see all the caves inside the mountains.
